The President of the Republic of Uganda, H.E Gen (Rtd) Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has accepted his appointment as the Founding Chancellor for Karamoja Peace And Technology University (KAPATU). President Museveni was officially appointed to the role on April 29, 2023 by the Catholic Lawyers Society International (CLASI) through their President, Mr. Twinobusingye Severino who is also the Chairperson University Council for KAPATU.
In his acceptance letter, Museveni thanked CLASI “for bringing such an institution to Karamoja” and promised to “do everything possible to make my small contribution to that effort” Museveni wrote in a letter addressed to Mr. Twinobusingye on August 21, 2023.
