KAPATU Receives Letter of Interim Authority From NCHE

The Karamoja Peace and Technology University (KAPATU) Project has received its highly anticipated Letter of Interim Authority from the National Council for Higher Education (NCHE), which is the regulator of higher education in Uganda.

This letter demonstrates that the KAPATU Project has met the conditions specified in the Universities and Other Tertiary Institutions Act No. 7 of 2001.

The Letter is valid for a period of up to three years during which the promoters of the KAPATU Project shall not admit students into the university but shall:

  1. Mobilize Funds;
  2. Acquire requisite infrastructures and academic facilities;
  3. Organize academic and administrative human infrastructures; and
  4. Do any other thing that may further the development of the proposed university to maturity.
